Claire's Race for Life

Hi I'm Claire, a 42 year old mother of two teenagers. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in April 2017 and to say this was a complete shock was an understatement. Having had two sisters diagnosed and been cleared ten years ago of any faulty genes but then to be told the news - I was broken. After 5 months of gruelling Chemo and 20 days of radiotherapy I am now recovering and back at work. I am running the pretty muddy race for life in an effort to raise money to enable cancer research to continue to strive to beat cancer. I am also running this race in celebration of me and my two beautiful sisters who have all beaten breast cancer - Joanne and Lindsey you are strong beautiful and our mama would be so proud. To our eldest sister Angela, you are our 2nd mama and you are and always have been there for us. Dad, you’ve raised some strong girls and you truly are our superhero. Love you all to the moon and back, we're warriors!! Grrrr. I will also be joined by some of the kindest ladies on earth who have supported me massively over the past ten months. You know who you are and I love you all lots. Finally, to my two beautiful children and my gorgeous husband. You kids have been so brave and matured so much this past ten months. Without my wonderful husband’s love and support I wouldn’t have coped. You’ve kept me smiling, held my hand and wiped my tears. You are everything to me.
