My Story
Hey folks, In January this year I was diagnosed with Grade 3 Stage 2B breast cancer. Bilateral! That means it’s in both breasts! I don’t do things by halves that’s for sure. I’m going through five months of chemotherapy at the moment, and training for this run at the same time. It’s keeping me sane. I’m slower and more tired than usual but it’s great to have a focus and a goal. The actual race will be five days before my last chemo so I’ll be in tip top condition, haha. It’s really important for me to support cancer research. If it wasn’t for research, I wouldn’t have the opportunity to take a drug, only approved on the NHS last year, that helps reduce the chance of recurrence in people like me who are high risk for it returning and advancing to secondary disease. Any amount is appreciated! Thank you so much. I’m running for everyone impacted by any type of cancer but a special lap for my breast cancer survivor friends Nan, Charlie, Deb, Olly and Natalie, and all the people currently going through breast cancer treatment and beyond. This includes everyone who is living with secondary breast cancer, which is incurable. Stage 4 deserves so much more. I’m also running for my cousin Lauren and all impacted by thyroid cancer. We were diagnosed around the same time and I could not do this journey without her. Wish me luck! All my love Claire x PS if you know me you’ll know how much it pains me this page doesn’t allow paragraphs 😆
