My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives. Recently, my dad was diagnosed with cancer so it's really important to me that I help and give back to a charity that is helping my dad. Experiencing cancer's effects first hand has made me realise how difficult it can be, not only for the person affected, but for the family too. It's also made me more aware that cancer can affect anyone regardless of their situation. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
