I have decided to take up the Full Marathon challenge in memory of my Dad. I have done the Half Marathon in 2019, so wanted to do the Full Marathon to push myself even further. My Dad was diagnosed with Oesophageal Cancer & we believe he had beaten cancer, but sadly he was again diagnosed with cancer, this time spreading to his lungs & liver. This time he just couldn’t beat the cancer and was taken from us. This has completely & utterly devastated our family. So doing the Full Marathon is much more personal to me & I want to do this for my Dad.

Oesophageal cancer

Oesophageal cancer rates are rising in the UK, and it's one of the hardest cancers to treat. It’s the sixth most common cause of cancer death and survival rates are poor. Help fund one of Cancer Research UK's top priorities – finding ways to improve survival from the disease.
