Brighton 5k 2017
Sat 1 Jul 2017
"From bed to 5k", well thats what my husband said when i told him that i had signed up to race for Life. I don't run, i don't jog, swim or any other form of healthy sporty activity so we can forgive the pessimism. However... Everyone knows someone who at some stage has had cancer. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. It is so important for Cancer Research to offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work. I'm also running for my own goal. Now putting myself out there... Only a few people know that i have anxiety and depression and my husband was only partly joking about it being bed to 5k. It can be a real struggle to get out of bed and not stay in my bubble. So I'm going to have to dig deep and get out there, excercise regularly, get fit and in July run the 5k. I know that crossing the finishing line won't just be a race for charity but a very personal accomplishment, knowing that i have supported a charity that fights against a disease that has affected my family and friends but also that if those closest and dearest to me can beat cancer then i sure as hell can push my insecurities aside and do this. So please sponsor me, donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
