Claire's "Racing" for life
Epsom 5k 2017
Sun 25 Jun 2017
I've not run a race since I was a kid. Racing for life is motivation enough.
In memory of
My mum - Chris
13 years ago the big C tragically took my Mum from us far too soon. This is for her and to help raise money to try and stop this disease in its tracks. As many of you will know - I am not a runner. In fact I'm not really much of a walker. But I wanted to change that and have something at the end of the course to prove it. So I've been training 'couch to 5k' and next weekend we'll see how I do. The training's been tough, but I've been committed and can now run for blocks of time. I know this sounds ridiculous but this 5k is like a marathon for me! But I'm going to do it - and probably give my Mum a giggle up there at the same time! Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in this Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. Please sponsor me and let's kick cancer to the kerb. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure.
