Claire takes on Sweatember
I'm taking on Sweatember to raise money for Cancer Research UK in memory of my Dad, please support me.
In memory of
David Blake
This September, I’m taking on Sweatember, a 30-day exercise challenge for Cancer Research UK. My motivation is to help raise funds for research into cancer in the hope that other families don't have to go through what we did. My Dad was a wonderful healthy, fit man who cared for my Mum until Christmas 2016. He got what appeared to be the flu and never totally recovered until he passed away in November 2017. The really frustrating thing was he had dozens of tests and no one could pinpoint what was wrong with him until the devasting day in October when we were told it was peritoneal mesothelioma - 3 weeks later he passed away leaving a huge hole in our family. Peritoneal mesothelioma is a rare cancer and as a result obtaining a diagnosis for my Dad look a long time. I hope by raising fund tests can be improved and diagnoses obtained sooner to give more people the chance to fight this disease. By the time my Dad got his diagnosis he was too weak for any treatment that might have given him more time with his family. Please help me raise money to fund life-saving cancer research by sponsoring me. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure.
