I'm cycling 300 miles this September for Cancer Research UK

Thank you for visiting my Cancer Research UK Cycle 300 page. This September, before the end of the month, I will complete 300 miles on my bike for Cancer Research UK. I will be pedalling harder than ever because I want to raise money for life-saving research and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.

All of the above is true of course. Partly I'm cycling in memory of my dad who passed away in December 2006 and partly because this is a good cause and I cycle for good causes. I've got form on this.

My plan at the moment is to do a circuit loop to work every day, so I do 10 miles a day. Then Saturday off and my usual 20 miles on a Sunday morning. Except for the 8th where I'm doing the Black Shuck Sportive, which should boost my total a bit!

My big challenge here is to get out on the bike no matter what the weather. Every day, no excuses, I'm out on two wheels.

Ugh. Technology. I'm 60 miles or so in to the journey, really I am. But I've had failures from Mr Garmin and from Mr Strava, but fortunately not at the same time so at least I can prove my mileage which now stands at 60 miles and small change. Rest day tomorrow as I have the Black Shuck Sportive to look forward to on Saturday and I'll be doing something of the order of 30 miles there. A hilly 30 miles. But just done a very wet ride so at least I'm keeping my promise of getting out there to do miles, no excuses!
