I'm Hooping The Race for Life
In memory of
Pauline Williams
My Mum was a bright, cheerful soul. At her funeral we all wore multicolours (some didn't get the memo, but that's ok). Unknown to all of us, she had a BRCA gene mutation and developed ovarian cancer aged 62. We buried her on her 63rd Birthday, in all the colours of the rainbow. As I can't run (legit ankle issue), I am taking to this 5K with my hulahoops. A 5k walk, skip, dance, shimmy, hop and jump, with hoops spinning on different body parts as I go. A big achievement for me, as a year ago I had just recovered from my mastectomy. I am also using this opportunity to raise awareness of BRCA gene mutations. For everyone who has been impacted by genetic cancer, and of course, for my wonderful Mumma. xxx
