My Story
am doing this marathon in memory of my friend and colleague Ron, who sadly died from breast cancer as well as my neighbour’s son, who sadly passed away last year, he had just become a father. Also working in a school, hearing at staff meetings of mothers and fathers who have passed away, or who are suffering with cancer, is heart breaking. Most recently though is finding out that my own brother’s partner is battling cancer. Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference. A personal inspiration has been my dear colleague and friend’s mother, who has successfully battled cancer and is now clear of the disease following treatment.
