My Story
In 2019 someone very close to me was diagnosed with cancer. Luckily that person is still here but I could see the toll the diagnosis and subsequent treatment had on them and on the rest of our family. We have been lucky but every year in the uk, 166000 people lose their battle with cancer. The impact that has on loved ones left behind is immeasurable. It’s about time we got rid of this awful disease. On The 17/09/21 I will run a step for every person that will loose their battle this year. 166000 steps or 103 miles. I plan to complete the run in 24 hours and my journey will take me from coast to coast across Scotland. Starting in Irvine on the west coast and ending in Edinburgh on the East coast. I am under no illusion this is going to be the hardest thing I have ever done but I feel it’s a small price to pay if I can raise just a little money to help fight cancer. The money I raise will help fund life-saving research and to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
