Chris's Cycle 300 Fundraising Page
Sun 28 Feb 2021
Thank you for visiting my Cancer Research UK Cycle 300 page. For those of you who know me well, will know that I’m not given to feats of physical endurance and whilst partially fit the thought of a pub garden would always win over a hike or Jog! It maybe something to do with turning 50 in the Autumn but I thought that this 3rd lockdown should be seized as the opportunity to do something about the personal spare tyre that the previous two lockdowns had seen inflate. Whilst rummaging through the garage the other day I came across this dusty two wheeled contraption and having given it a service, removed the stabilisers and with the help of surgically fitted Lycra have been out for a spin or two. Then in a moment of madness and getting carried away with my new Wiggins image I thought I’d be up for a challenge! ………..queue Cancer Research UK and the Muse team who are walking and riding through March. I will therefore be cycling 300 miles in a month in aid of Cancer Research UK. I know for some of you 300 miles is merely an afternoon out with your peloton buddies but for a fat bloke on something akin to a penny-farthing at this stage of March it feels like I’m taking on Everest. It’s all relative. Trust me, I will feel pain! Every penny makes a huge difference to vital cancer research so I hope you will be able to show your support with a donation to my page. I know these are tough times so a huge thank you to those of you who can contribute. It really will be what I need to keep me fuelled!
