In memory of
Pam Hudson, my Mum in law and too many other family and friends
My Story
10 years ago, my family was dealt a devastating blow. We all watched as cancer took the life of my wonderful mother-in-law, Pam, over the space of a few short months. The treatment and care she received was first class, but sadly not enough. I have lost 2 of my grandparents to cancer, and my own Mum and Step-Dad are cancer survivors, having been through some brutal, painful, and scary but lifesaving treatments. Cancer is a vicious disease and it doesn't discriminate, 1 in 2 of us will get cancer at some point in our lives, and I don't know anybody who hasn't been affected through the illness of a loved one or friend. That’s a pretty scary statistic. With these odds none of us can afford to take the attitude of “it’ll never happen to me”. I've decided to embark on this challenge on the 10th anniversary of losing Pam, and whilst it will be no walk in the park, it will pale into insignificance to the battle that cancer patients fight every day. Cancer treatments are constantly improving, but there is still a long way to go, any donations you can spare will go towards making the prospect of getting cancer not such a scary one. Thank you, from all of the Hudson Smales family.
