My Story
On the 24th June 2023, I will be joining 30+ colleagues at Nigel Wright as we take on the 25 mile Yorkshire 3 peaks to raise money for Cancer Research UK. I have trained to run the course over the three highest Peaks Yorkshire has to offer in sub 6 hours, in order to raise as much as I can for this tremendous cause. Every year older we become, the increased likelihood of us, or someone we know becoming affected by cancer. I have experienced the wonders of cancer treatment, which has enabled both my in-laws to overcome their battles with cancer. Ultimately this has enabled them to experience my kids childhood over the last eleven years, which is priceless. Without swift interventions and skilled medical professionals, this could have been a very different story. Sadly, I also saw two of my grandparents lose their battle with cancer, which meant they narrowly missed the opportunity to experience the joy of having time with their great grand children. I am sure that my story will have similarities to what many families experience and every penny and pound that we can raise for cancer research is priceless to fund the critical research into cancer treatments.
