Shine Night Walk London 2021 - Full Marathon

Sat 25 Sep 2021 - Sat 25 Sep 2021

My Story

Chris and I are walking a full marathon in London on 25 September to raise money for cancer research. We last did this in 2017 following a tough couple of years for our family. Chris’s Dad, Tom, was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2013 and I was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2016, shortly after the birth of our third son. Since our diagnoses and surgeries, Tom has participated in clinical trials and I have thankfully remained disease free. Thanks to the amazing treatments available both Tom and I are survivors of cancer. Family, friends and colleagues have since been affected by cancer and we would really like to take the opportunity to further support cancer research. The support people have given to cancer research in the past cannot be underestimated: cancer research saves lives. It is for this reason we ask you to support us - please like and share this post and our fundraising page and if you are able to, please make a donation to help us raise as much as possible for cancer research to help save more lives. Thank you, Claire and Chris Xx

Our work has helped double cancer survival in the UK in the last 50 years. Despite this incredible progress, there’s more to be done. Nearly 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime. Help us carry out world-class research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer.
