All those living with and lost to cancer
As a result of clinical trials being paused due to COVID-19, the Race for Life is more important than ever. I have seen firsthand the significant decrease in patients enrolling on to our clinical trials where I work, the Institute of Cancer Research/ Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust ๐ฉ These clinical trials can give extra months, years or sometimes even a complete response to those patients with limited options after failure of previous treatments ๐ That's why I'll be taking part in the Race for Life at Home. Anything you can donate will go towards life-saving research and will make a huge difference in a time where cancer research funding is down significantly. Luckily I started Couch to 5k at the end of last year, so I am now running regularly thanks to Ben! But I want to make this 5k my quickest yet ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ The virtual race is on the 24th April 2021, so only a month to go! You can also walk the 5k; the more people that enter, the more money for research ๐งช๐งซ Cancer hasnโt stopped for COVID, and neither will our research. Our team has worked throughout the pandemic, adapting the way we work to ensure this vital work does not stop. If you are concerned about any symptoms, please contact your GP! ๐ฉโโ๏ธ๐งโโ๏ธ Thank you ๐๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ฌ๐งฌ๐๐๐งซ
