Chloe's Race for Life

On the 30th October 2018 my WORST fear in life came true. My beautiful, amazing, strong Mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The worst thing any Parent, Child, Brother, Sister, Grandparent or Partner could ever hear. The last few months of 2018 were what we call “the easy part”. Today, 30th January 2019, was the start of a new chapter to a life changing journey for my mum. Although this is really just the start, it has already been the most hardest thing our family have had to accept, as well as go through with her. My mum has played the role of both a Mother and a Father to me and my brother our whole lives, must I say, has done an outstanding job, so this was definitely not something we as a family were prepared for. The thought of knowing our Mum has a disease that we can’t cure in any way, is the most heartbreaking thing I have personally ever experienced in my life. After everything my mum has done for me, it is now my turn to take care of her and make her proud, which is why I am taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy Event to help raise money and help save lives. The Cancer Unit at Royal Berkshire Hospital have been absolutely incredible with my mum so far, and I can’t thank them enough for potentially saving her life, and what they have done for her and continue to do each day. By donating and helping me reach my goal of £500, you will help save lives and save families of having to feel that heartache, as well as becoming a part of my journey with me.
