My Story
Without going into too much detail, I can honestly say that cancer has hit our family hard this year. I've always been aware of other people's stories and other people being affected by cancer but have been naive to what goes on within chemo and the treatment and also how poorly a person can get within a short space of time. The realisation that anyone can get cancer has hit me hard and when it happens so close within the family, it's truly heart breaking. To realise that our childhood heroes, the people we love so dearly, the people we look up to as children are actually not invincible like we once thought they were, is utterly world shattering. It's a very cruel world and cancer is a very cruel disease. I know a lot of you will see cancer as I did and know somebody that has been affected by it, or maybe you have been lucky enough to not have it happen so close to you. But all of us together, if we dig deep and spare those few pounds we'd spend on a coffee, we can hopefully raise enough money to make terminal cancer one of the more rare things we come across in this cruel world!
