My Story
So, I've just signed up to walk half a marathon, in September 2017, around London ... That's 13.1 miles, with an average time of 7 hours walking non stop! Not only that, it's at 8.25pm ... For all of you who know me, I don't cope well on little sleep! So I've set myself a challenge, to help beat cancer and raise £260. So if you could all help raise money towards this amazing cause, I would be more than appreciative. Whether it's a £1 or more! This has all been sparked from a very tough past year. With no signs or symptoms, apart from a very sudden agonising pain, my mummy was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. It was the toughest 2 weeks of all of our lives ever. Everything had been turned upside down in a matter of hours; from an afternoon in a&e to waiting on a ward, to being told an emergency operation was needed and she would be kept in overnight and an operation would be taking place the very next morning. At this point, we didn't know it was cancer either. It was only after a biopsy had been sent away and we had an antagonising 2 weeks wait, we found out it was stage 4. So after lots of tears from us all, my amazing and strong mummy fought through 12 treatments of chemotherapy, whilst still recovering from her stomach operation. She did amazingly well. So strong and positive. So take that Cancer, you're gone! ?? Other people unfortunately aren't as fortunate as my mummy though. Whilst the 22nd September 2016, marked my mummy's first chemo, the 22nd of September 2017 myself, my mummy and daddy will be preparing for a 13.1 mile walk around London the following day, with the support of one of my amazing friends Charlie Hyde and her mummy; Nicky Hyde who have supported us through the last year, and more! So please, even if it's only a £1, give us all even more motivation to walk 13.1miles non stop around London, for around 7 hours, in aid of Cancer Research and fighting even more cancers! ?? Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives.
