My darling Mother lost her life to this awful disease  Cancer doesn't just stop when somebody dies - it lives on in the hearts of the family and friends and for me, there is a huge Mum shaped hole that I have to cope with every day. As I watched her suffer, without complaining, I was struck by how indiscriminate the disease is and how helpless we remain in so many cases. I want to run Race for Life 2017 both to honour her extraordinary bravery in the face of the cruellest of diseases and to support the vital research into the causes and treatment of cancer made possible by Cancer Research UK. Race for Life is such a fantastic opportunity to raise a lot of money for a great cause and I will be inspired by the incredible courage and dignity shown by my mother right to the end.
