Great Auntie Barbara
My Story
Unfortunately my great aunt lost her battle against cancer before I had the chance to meet her, but from what I have heard, she was an amazing person. She was a second mother figure to my mum and her brother and sister and a best friend to my nana. Her passing divided my nana's family to the point where she lost contact with her brother-in-law (Barbara's husband) and his side of the family. This only made it worse for the everyone. But by taking part in the Race for Life, I hope that everyone can raise the money to help prevent other people and families from going through what my family went through in the past and to help beat cancer!

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
