In memory of
Grandad Squirrel and Robert Macfarlane
Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. We all know of someone who has been affected by cancer; a family member, a friend, a colleague. Any small donations towards finding cures, better treatments and investing in further research to help beat cancer is most welcome - please donate to this amazing cause which I hold very close to my heart. I'm doing this Shine Night Walk as part of the "Shimp Troupe" group who have all had people affected by cancer, and one that we all share in common. Robert Macfarlane was an extremely dedicated and hard working man, someone who was a perfectionist and provided people the very best of services in his work. It was a complete shock to hear the news that this incredibly fit man (who cycled everywhere!) had been given just days to live after terminal cancer was diagnosed this summer. We as a team would like to donate all the money raised in honour of Rob to help make sure that other families, friends, and colleagues do not have to hear the same heartbreaking news that we had. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
