My Story
I’m taking on the Birmingham Half marathon in October to raise funds for Cancer research. Cancer has played a strong role within my family with both my aunt and uncle being affected by various forms. I’m doing this race in memory of my aunt who died after battling breast cancer nearly three years ago. She first battled breast cancer over 10 years ago where she was lucky enough to enter remission. Unfortunately a few years later the cancer was back, and even though she fought back with various forms of treatment and surgery. Unfortunately she lost her battle with cancer in October 2016 but will never be forgotten. I’ve never run before so wish me luck!

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
