Race for life
Sun 13 May 2018
Hi again yep that time of year I ask you to dug deep and give £1 or whatever you can to help research. You know I had pancreatic cancer which was remove on 31st March 2014 . I am in remission but still have trips to London to check it hasn' cone back and will have another 3 year before all clear. Along this road I have met family' and Doctors who lost the mothers from this cancer (I am the lucky one) . I have been asked by the doctor what were my symptoms and how did I get it diagnosed . I always say I got diagnosed by accident . I thought it was my kidney stone and I was having scans for it and they picked up on the Tumor when it was the size of a pin head. When it was removed it was 4cm yes it grew. Symptms were pain in my right side like a kidney stone also looking back I was constantly ill with cold ECT. I don't see myself as special just lucky and would wish no one else to die from this .when it us diagnosed I know it's usually to late some celebrities have died from the same cancer. I did this race 10 weeks post op (i got told of by my specialest ) ?We need to make it stop now and not let anyone else loss their life. I have lost a dear friend Leigh from cancer he has always been with me when I race over the last 10 year . I know he is pushing me with rainbows at the end and baby birds flying in my house and last year making me cry as I cross the line. Also a friend had cancer 2 tines I one year and has beat it . I told her to never give up and she didn't. So it's not just for me it's for everyone trying to beat cancer . THANK YOU FOR READING
CAUSE
Pancreatic cancer
Survival rates for pancreatic cancer remain stubbornly low in the UK, often because the disease is diagnosed late and is difficult to treat. Help Cancer Research UK make progress in one of the biggest research challenges its scientists are facing – to find better ways to detect and treat the disease.
