My Story
This isn't something you like to think about, but it is an illness that we can't ignore. Cancer is a c*nt. But research is saving lives. After 5 years of treatments that we close to working, I lost my Mum to ovarian cancer 2 years ago. A relative, Patricia is also alive today, and a happy grandmother, thanks to the research into beating breast cancer. The treatments are better, the care is much more humane and the support has developed into making a difference between life and death. For all the people I know that I've lost to cancer, there is also a lot to be thankful for. There is hope in research and hope for people like my mum, Marise, Patricia, Ronan and Edwige who want to live. So here I am, ready to get muddy for my 2nd Cancer Research fundraiser! For all the people I love, whether they're here today or not.
