My Story
This September, before the end of the month, I will complete 200 miles on my bike for Cancer Research UK. Cancer has touched right into my life over recent years. 3 years ago my dear sister Veronica was diagnosed with lung cancer. She sadly lost her life and is loved and missed every day. Concurrently, a close family to ours lost Cari to a brain tumour. Thankfully when my own partner was diagnosed with bowel cancer 12 months ago , it was caught early and an operation and chemotherapy later, means she is now recovering and is cancer free. I want to raise money towards cancer research to help support the amazing work they do every day and to work towards the day that all cancers can be either cured or prevented . Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
