Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. My father was taken away from me and my family within a couple of months. It has been some time now but it still seems to be so close, and so something you'll never get used to. I've always wanted to do something for him, my family and kick cancer in the butt to show we're here and we'll do whatever it takes to make the disease just an old thing from the past. Three years ago I managed to raise £1,264.76. We can do better and get to the £1,500 mark this time! Every single penny counts so whether it's £2, £22 or £222, you'll still help research against lung cancer, and from wherever he is, Papa will probably give you a wink, or a wave. It is the most common cause of cancer death in the UK. Each year more than 43,500 people are diagnosed with lung cancer in the UK, and the disease claims almost 35,200 lives. That's far too many and that's why I'm raising money for this cause.
