My Story
I’m taking part in the Race for Life on June4th 2024 at Trentham Estate with a group of lovely ladies who have a friendship of 35 years plus between us! Cancer has affected some members of our group and our families over the years and thankfully with amazing healthcare and support most have come through the other side and are doing well, sadly some family members lost their battle. More recently in 2021 one of our ladies Paula was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer and after months of radiotherapy, hospital visits, physical changes was told the cancer had gone and she was doing well but unfortunately this was not the end of our lovely Paula’s journey as in 2022 she had the devastating diagnosis of stage 4 bowel cancer. She is still battling this disease today with ongoing chemotherapy sessions, undergoing life changing complicated surgeries and coping with the huge effects this has had on her and her family’s life. She’s our warrior, we love her dearly. As a group we’ve done many things together……. Parties, holidays, trips out etc so we thought why not do this together when one of our own is battling the elements. Cancer affects us all even if it’s not happening directly to us. Please donate what you can to support me in The Race for Life. I’ve taken up Couch to 5k in the hope I can actually run it (if you know me you’ll know I’m not a runner I can only run a bath!)
