My Story
I have taken part in the Race for Life for several years but it is even more meaningful for me this year having been diagnosed with breast cancer in January this year. I have had a mastectomy and lymph node clearance and am in my 4 month of chemo. The treatment has been tough and there have been additional things to deal with along the way. I have had amazing support from family and friends which has kept me going and helped me to be positive and strong. The NHS and Macmillan staff have also been incredibly supportive. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
