My Story

For my first 25 years, cancer wasn’t directly part of my world, and I remember the moment that changed like it was yesterday. Now, 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. 🏃🏼 This year I've decided to take on a 10k to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. Running has never been something I’ve enjoyed very much, but the training is going well so far thanks to good music and some decent trainers... I’m also looking forward to joining hundreds of others in running along the beautiful Aberdeenshire coastline on 2 July. Here's hoping for a sunny day! 🌎 Every step I take in training for this event is for my Dad, and for other family members, friends and colleagues: in fact everyone whose worlds have been turned upside down by a cancer diagnosis. 🎂 I’ve set my fundraising target as £460: ten times the number of candles on my cake this year. 💗 Every step we make towards beating cancer relies on every pound donated, with Cancer Research UK funding world-class cancer research and long-term projects with huge potential to improve and save lives. Any contribution you could make towards my target would be so gratefully received. Thank you 🙏🏻
