I’m raising as much as I can to beat cancer - this terrible terrible disease...
Running a half Marathon is a challenge I have never contemplated but not as tough as what I see Dad is going through daily so I have decided to show my support in his fight against cancer. I have chosen to run the North London half marathon because I know I will find this a crazy, tough challenge that seems insurmountable to me - I'm not a runner! Since my father's diagnosis in February 2016 of Metastatic Malignant Melanoma of the Skin my mother, my sister and myself have been trying to help him fight his battle. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 and we were told that the outlook wasn't positive. The doctors remain amazed at what his body has withstood and how much of a fight he has put up. Sadly in December he was told the cancer, despite nearly all going from his body had appeared in his brain. Sadly Dad's diagnosis is terminal however the money raised will now go towards saving other ones we love. This is the toughest of times for him and for us as quite frankly it is a nasty, nasty disease. If I had one wish it would be for cancer to be eliminated from this planet. Your support and your money will go towards researching eliminating cancer. I hope I can raise more than £1000 so please donate away. Donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Cancer Research is an incredible charity that is chipping away at cures and preventative treatment all the time. Our family thanks them and all the Marie Curie nurses that have supported us and continue to do so alongside St Christopher's hospice. I will need to do more challenges to continue to raise money for all these fantastic charities that do amazing and life-changing work. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
