My Story
In 2012 whilst my husband Ian was on a fishing trip his sister rung him and told him her breast cancer had returned for a 2nd time but this time is was terminal. After getting over the shock of this news he sat and started to think of a way he could do something to help the fight against this disease. He himself has suffered with lymphoma twice and between my husband and I we have had too many loved ones taken or affected by this illness. Whilst sitting there he came up with the idea of a sponsored fishing match that would be over a 36 hour period. So with the help of me we started organizing the event, it was just small to start with, just 6 anglers but the event went well and we have continued it ever since. The match has naturally developed into what it is now and many of the same anglers take part every match, creating what has become an extended family group. The six anglers in 2012 consisted of my husband Ian his 2 brothers Steve & Tony, and 3 friends one of which is no longer with us. The match is a bi-annual match which lasts over 48hrs. So if you would like to help beat this disease please sponsor us and donate. Many thanks Vicki Palmer
