We are taking part in a Very 2020 Race for Life to help beat cancer
At the end of July our world was turned upside down when my Dad, Emily’s Grandad, was diagnosed with lung cancer. This diagnosis was a huge shock to us all. He will shortly be embarking upon a tough regime of chemotherapy and immunotherapy to hopefully reduce the tumours sufficiently for radiotherapy to be effective. At the start of the summer Emily and I decided to start the Couch to 5k programme and are due to complete it early September. It seems fitting therefore that we take part in this virtual event to raise funds for vital research. The treatment Dad has received thus far, during these unprecedented difficult Covid times, has been phenomenal and we are encouraged that while his cancer is aggressive it can be treated successfully provided he copes with the tough treatment regime. These are our very personal reasons for taking part in a Very 2020 Race for Life. Every pound you can donate will go towards Cancer Research UK’s ground-breaking work, so please sponsor us today! If you’d like to join the Very 2020 Race for Life community, then sign up at raceforlife.org/2020 We won’t let 2020 stop us.
