My Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. This March I’m walking 10,000 steps a day throughout the month to in aid of Cancer Research UK. I am fundraising to help save lives by finding new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. 1 in 2 of us will develop cancer at some point in our lives. Despite this statistic, I never thought that my family would ever be affected by cancer. However, my big sister, Ruth received an unexpected and devastating diagnosis of widespread terminal cancer 6 months ago. Despite being gravely ill, Ruth is the one of the most positive people I know, she never fails to make me smile and laugh everyday and she always tells me that there are people who are in a worse position than she is. Ruth inspires me to be more positive and with this in mind, I want to do something positive for Cancer Research UK. Here are some ways in which any money raised can help: *£5 kits out a research lab with the essential chemicals for day-to-day experiments to help beat cancer *£12 buys a lab timer to keep the scientists on track *£20 buys a new bulb for a microscope, illuminating minute details of cancer cells *£25 funds a cancer nurse for 1 hour *£100 buys a bunsen burner *£200 helps fund a post doc researcher to name but a few. I would so appreciate any support for my Walk All Over Cancer which will help to fund life-saving research. Thank you so much for for taking the time to read this. Caroline x
