My Story

Cancer! That one word that everyone has a storey to tell, whether it’s their own or someone they know. Over the years I have had friends fight cancer but unfortunately lose their battles, and I have know friends and close family fight and win their battles. Cancer impacted my life when my mum was diagnosed with skin cancer some years ago, but luckily after a few years she was given the all clear. Then in 2018 my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer and given less than a year to live; amazingly through treatment and 8 weeks of radiotherapy he is still fighting his battle 4 years on. It’s been hard seeing someone you love so much go through something so awful that you just can’t control, but through love and support you make it through together. So, I am dedicating my run to him.
