Caroline's Race for Life

I am running for Ben Dawes, this is his story. ‘As most are aware now, my 18 year old brother Peter Dawes received the news on the 23rd April 2019 that he has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. As you can imagine it’s been a hard first few days to understand and comprehend it all for him, and also my family. To keep Peters and my family’s spirts high I want to show them how much love and support they have around them. Peter, Adam and I are blessed to have such supportive, loving and caring parents and therefore I want to do this for them as much as peter. I want to show them how much love and support is around them. Peter is the most dedicated, hard working 18 year old I’ve met, and for that reason I want to take a leaf out of his book and accomplish something myself, for him. So therefore my first challenge is to complete Race For Life 10k in Portsmouth on July 7th 2019. As many of you know, I’m over weight. Therefore running 10k is going to be both a physical and mental challenge. If you don’t want to run but would like come down and support then please do. That too would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to take part please do also sign up and join us on the start line, to spread the love and support. CLIC Sargent have been amazing ever since they first came to see us. All you need to do is google them to see their incredible work. They’ve provided my family with a room in Southampton if we ever need to stay closer to Peter but they’ve also given Peter advise on his academic studies.
