Cancer Research UK's Big Hike Peak District
Sat 18 Sep 2021 - Sat 18 Sep 2021
On September 18 my friend Rachel and I are taking part in Cancer Research UK’s Big Hike to raise money for Cancer Research and help beat cancer.
My Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Giving Page. After major surgery last October to remove a large cyst I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and lockdown for me was punctuated by chemotherapy sessions. As my hair dropped out I embraced the opportunity to try different hats and wigs and be 'Dobby' at our lockdown themed ‘Harry Potter night’!!!! Take a look in the gallery. Thanks to the incredible care I have received and research into new drugs, just a year on my cancer is in total remission and I'm back to full strenght again. To mark this journey, thank all those who have supported me through it and to raise money for life-saving research, my friend Rachel and I are taking on this one-day hiking marathon challege across the Peak District. I am now in serious 'training mode' to build up my stamina and fitness again - though Essex lacks the hiills of the Peak District! Please click the link if you would like to donate to my Giving Page and help us take big steps to beat cancer.
