My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Our wonderful colourful friend Katherine passed away this morning, 13 May 2019, having fought a very brave battle with cancer. We, and her other friends, will always remember her for her real zest for life and her wonderful, every changing, colourful hair, which reflected her bubbly and colourful personality. I last ran the Race for Life in 2008 but have not entered again as I broke my leg in 3 places in 2009 but I think that if Katherine could endure all she went through I can give it a go and whereas it might need to be a walk this time I can still do my bit. Also I have a significant birthday next year and maybe this is a good time to do something like this. Besides Katherine I have lost other good friends and family to cancer so maybe its time for me to do my bit again. Also to the family I still blessed to have because a cure was possible - thanks to the wonderful medical advances. So in memory of Katherine Elliott, Dorothy Hollens, Jim Matthews etc 'Here I go again'.
