Shine London 2019 - Half Marathon

On September 21, a few of us will be taking part in a semi marathon ‘’ the shine night walk’’ for our dear friends Caroline and Benjamin, in support of their gorgeous 4-year old son, Gaspard, and his family. 9 months ago, Gaspard was diagnosed with a stage 3 Rhabdomyosarcoma located in his pelvis. This soft tissue cancer affects less than 60 children in the UK every year. Since then, Gaspard and his family have undertaken an incredibly hard journey to win the battle which so far has included 9 rounds of chemo as well as 6 weeks of Protom B therapy, a special radiation treatment that uses protoms, rather than X ray, to improve targeting and spare organs surrounding the tumour. That night, we will be walking in support of Gaspard's journey, his family, the medical teams surrounding them as well as a few of our loved ones who have also been impacted by rare forms of cancer.
