My Story
Hi, I will run 10k on the 15th July at Bitts Park Carlisle to raise funds to help fight this disease. Many of my loved ones and friends have been affected by cancer and so this is all that more important to me. I remember the sadness, turmoil and the grief experienced as part of the diagnosis each time. My Dad was diagnosed with type 3 bowel cancer in 2015 and was a true inspiration throughout his fight. His tenacity had enabled him to watch me, as I run this race for him! I will also be running this race in memory of my Nan –Patsy Cartmel who fought breast cancer, my Grandad Tom who fought against lung cancer and two wonderful family friends- Jacky and Wendy. A lot of people lose their lives to cancer each year and just by sponsoring you can contribute towards the costs of treatment and medical research. Events like Race for life are vital in funding Cancer Uk’s lifesaving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me now you will help more people survive. I am doing this race not solely for those that I have lost, but for the people who are battling on. This is also for all those families and individuals suffering at this time. You can either chose to sponsor me online, it is quick and easy and far more secure, or make your donation to me in person.
