My Story

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives. Me and my family have suffered through the past few years with this horrible disease and ultimately it has ended the lives of some of my family. My brother was diagnosed at age 7 with a rare form of cancer called a Wilms Tumor. He fought his cancer for over a year and was even given an all clear at one point. Our family were so happy until one day it came back and the second time round unfortunately he lost his fight, all be it much too soon. My grandad Raymond suffered from a stomach cancer that he fought for months. He lived in the Canary Islands and was loving life, enjoying his retirement out in the beautiful sunny hills of Villa Verde in Fuerteventura with my nana. He became ill and had to travel to and from the hospital (the only one on the island) several times until he became to ill to travel anymore and eventually passed away. Cancer is a horrible and vicious disease and I hope one day we can overcome and hopefully irradicate it from all of our lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me with as much as you can give. With donations to amazing organisations such as cancer research we can fund the tireless work the researchers put in to beating cancer sooner rather than later. Please give all you can and thank you for reading my story and giving your time and money to this cause. Callam xx
