My Story
Next month will be 1 year since my life (and my family’s and friends’) have changed. It was in May 2020 during the first lockdown in UK that I found a lump on my breast. I’ve never thought I’d have to deal with cancer myself even though have already lost some beloved people to this bloody disease. In 2019 I did the race in memory of my grandfather, my uncle and my cousin 😢 I’ve seen the advert for ‘Race for Life at home’ this week and thought it would be an amazing way to celebrate my own race for life after such a challenging and scary time. I’m lucky and blessed enough to have had access to treatment during an year where vital cancer trials have been delayed. That’s why the Race for Life to raise money is more important than ever. I just hope nobody would need to live scared of something growing inside them and killing them from inside out whilst waiting to be checked or to get their treatment. Nobody deserves to loose a beloved one like this. To have cancer is so scary and damaging in so many ways. That's why I'll be taking part in the Race for Life at Home. It will be 5K that do my own treatment I will do it walking and stopping, definitely not running. But I guess after an operation, 6 months of chemo + immunotherapy, 1 month of daily radiotherapy plus all the injections, picc line and disturbing exams.... to be able to make it and raise money to help the cause will be so worth. Every pound you can donate will go towards Cancer Research UK’s ground-breaking work, so please sponsor me today!
