My Story
When my Grandaddy passed away in 2015, I promised myself that I’d raise awareness and money, in his memory, for charities that work towards fighting the illnesses he was battling. So far I’ve taken part in a 5k run, I’ve not drank alcohol for a whole month (that’s a lie - I failed at the last hurdle/the final night, but I gave it a good shot!) and I’ve taken part in a memory walk with my Alfie, in total raising roughly £1,000 for both CRUK and the Alzheimer’s Society. When we first lost my Pops I had big plans, and wanted to do a lot more then just the above. I really don’t feel like I’ve done enough, so I’ve decided to up my game and sign up to run 10k, 4 days before my Pops birthday in October. If you know me well, you’ll know that I only run if it’s 10:29am and McDonalds are about to stop serving breakfast, so 10k is going to be pretty fun. I know 10k isn’t much for some, but I’m not much of a runner and have never even attempted 10k before, so this will be interesting to say the least. So, if you can, no matter how big or small, please sponsor me ❤️ Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
