Brigette's Race for Life

As most of you will know I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Nov ‘18 - to say this was a shock is an understatement! No family history! No obvious signs! ......but thank goodness for the over 50’s mammogram screenings that are undertaken by the NHS - if I hadn’t gone along to mine, who knows I may not have been here to tell the story! After having undergone surgery, chemotherapy and now undergoing radiotherapy I realise just how lucky I am to still be here (albeit the journey to date has not been an easy one - but not as difficult as others I know). I have run the Race for Life previously raising money in memory of those close to me whom I have lost and also those who are still fighting - little did I realise then that I would be taking part this year myself as a survivor of this awful disease (I would like to point out that I am simply not well/fit enough to run this time, but I will do my absolute best to walk the course and complete it) So please may I ask, from the bottom of my heart to dig deep and sponsor me for this wonderful cause - Cancer Research do such an amazing job - I suppose it’s safe to say their wonderful work has saved not only my life but many, many others - thank you so much xxx P.s. please do come along on the day too to show your support and cheer us on too
