Brian's Great Hike! 630 miles, please pop any spare pennies on here.

Thank you for visiting my Fundraising Page. On the 17th May I shall start hiking the South West Coastal Path, Minehead, Somerset to Poole, Dorset, hiking through North Devon, North Cornwall, South Cornwall, South Devon and along the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. A total distance of 630 miles and a combined altitude of 114,931ft - the equivalent altitude of walking up Mt Everest 4 times! - Its quite an undertaking and one hell of a challenge. I will be carrying all my kit with me and camping along the path. Where I can, I will be sharing my photos and stories of my hike via my social channels, so you can all follow my progress. As well as the physical challenge, the mental challenge will be very tough too, in order to help focus my mind I have decided to do some fundraising to make sure I stay on track. A good friend of mine lost his young son Harry when we was just 5 years old! For nearly five months Harry bravely battled Acute Myeloid Leukemia! I have no idea what that pain must be like to have to endure. Last year a friend of mine died from oesophagus cancer and just recently another good friend has been told she has bone cancer! Then, if all of that wasn't enough, my mum has just started another round of chemotherapy to battle her own illness. I am surrounded by this vile affliction and I know you will all have your own stories of friends and family in similar situations. So I have this wonderful opportunity to raise some money to fight the battle against cancer. We all want the day to come when all cancers are curable, so please spare what you can from pennies to pounds, they all count in our fight. Thank you very, very much.
