My Story
Mum-of-three, Brenda Pedley, received a special surprise from ‘Strictly’s’ Kai Widdrington on The One Show’s ‘One Big Thank You’ after raising over £200,000 for Cancer Research UK. Following Brenda’s own diagnosis of breast cancer, the 76-year-old has spent the past two decades raising money through cream teas in her back garden in Cornwall, film-themed dinner dances each spring and colour themed dinners each autumn. Despite Brenda’s declining health, she has continued to play an integral part in helping Cancer Research UK find new ways to detect, diagnose and treat cancer.
