As most of you know we lost our beautiful inspirational courageous mum in November to ovarian cancer. Having been wrongly diagnosed for years with IBS and diverticulitis. The prognosis was 5 years but sadly she lasted 2. Mum was very clear with her instructions when it came to getting my horse “mr Jeeves” back in June,( I don’t care what it costs just get him back) it was at this point I knew she knew her time was short. Due to my anxiety I find riding very difficult and being the horse he is he is very entwined with this. So, I intend to ride mr Jeeves every day for the month of January with the end goal being taking him to the gallops and having a blast like I would have 20 years ago without any fear (and mum standing on the side lines with her hands in front of her eyes!) mr Jeeves did however make it to see mum in the hospice and behaved like a perfect gent and now features on their website! He clearly knew he owes her everything xx Someone in the UK loses their life to cancer every 3 minutes – we are determined to change that.
CAUSE
Ovarian cancer
Ovarian cancer is the fifth most common cancer in UK women, with more than 130 women every week told that they have the disease. It is often not diagnosed until it has spread, making it harder to treat. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to detect ovarian cancer earlier and find better treatments.
