My Story
On the 20th May 2026, we said goodbye to the greatest mum a boy could ever wish for. Holly was kind, funny, and lived her life making her two boys, Addison and Blake, smile. Holly was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer on the 12th of January, and within weeks was told it had already spread to her lymph nodes and was incurable. She faced her battle with incredible bravery and determination, desperate to defy the odds and be around for her boys for as long as possible. Holly kept her illness incredibly private, with many people not even realising she was poorly at all. On the 3rd of May, just two days before our son’s 10th birthday, Holly went into The Christie with headaches she had simply been treating with paracetamol, while still taking Blake to the park and making sure he had fun. Tragically, we were told the cancer had spread to the lining of her brain and into her spinal fluid, and her condition deteriorated far faster than any of us could have imagined. Despite being in pain and full of anxiety, Holly immediately snapped back into mummy mode when the boys came to say their final goodbyes. She reassured them that she was going to be okay and reminded them how deeply she loved them with all her heart ❤️ Following the hardest conversation I have ever had in my life, one of the first things Blake asked me was if we could sign up to a charity run in memory of his mum, to help other people battling the same disease. It is a testament to what a wonderful mother Holly was that our son’s first thought was of helping others, and I am so proud of the little boy we have brought up. We will love you forever, mummy, and you will always be with us. Blake ♥️
