Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. Cancer effects everyone in some way, it first touched my life 20years ago when my Mum lost her battle to the silent killer. Overian Cancer was not detected early enough for my mum as she travelled all over the world with my Dad Barry, it was undetected at first. Medics thought it may have been a tropical illness or similar. I miss her every day and my Dad too for the next 7years until he joined her in 2007 to rest in peace back in my home village, he loved her so much and this bike ride is dedicated to both of my wonderful parents who gave so much in life. At 62 Mum was taken in her prime, so cycling over 300 miles in September is not really a challenge for me but reason to get more research on this kind of Cancer to help others not loose their loved ones too soon. Incidentally this challenge ends on what would have been my Dad Barry’s Birthday. We all get effected one day one way or another - couple of clicks to donate it’s easy xx
CAUSE
Ovarian cancer
Ovarian cancer is the fifth most common cancer in UK women, with more than 130 women every week told that they have the disease. It is often not diagnosed until it has spread, making it harder to treat. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to detect ovarian cancer earlier and find better treatments.
