Biggar CRUK Fundraising Committee
Biggar CRUK Events

Biggar Committee has been going for over 50 years, since 1969. Our 50th Anniversary Year saw a mega fundraising effort. We want to continue to make a difference and help beat cancer.
In memory of
Family, friends and neighbours who have had their lives touched by cancer.
Biggar Committee has been fundraising for CRUK for over 50 years. We are a group of volunteers who live locally and want to actively help CRUK beat cancer sooner. Each year we hold a range of fundraising events including: a door to door collection, a stall at Biggar Show in July and a Street Market in August. We also have other events during the year, such as: Garden Open events, historical interest evenings and collections at local supermarkets. Every April we fundraise locally with our Door-to-Door collections. This is a great way for us to meet our neighbours and help raise awareness of our aims. We really miss getting out there and meeting you all. So, if you are able, we would very much appreciate a 'virtual' Door-to-Door contribution from you this year. Please give what you can. To mark our 50th Anniversary, we set out to raise as much money as possible and achieved almost double our regular annual total. We undertook a walk in September 2019 from the Beatson in Glasgow to the Western General in Edinburgh - some 60 miles completed in 3 days. Individual committee members also hosted events throughout the year. We hope to plant a commemorative tree in Biggar High Street and held a Quiz Night in November 2019. Since then... COVID 19 has had an enormous impact on everyone's lives and our fundraising has all but stopped. We are now facing a second year without any major events. So anything you can give is appreciated by us as a committee and by Cancer Research UK. Thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising page. Cancer is happening right now, which is why we are fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Donate to our page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
